Victorian Hong Kong is an area I’d love to write more about because I’m so drawn to Victorian and Georgian eras and would enjoy creating a Victorian itinerary for my home city. With Chinese history and traditions quite visible and the Discover Hong Kong tourism website so easy to navigate, I’ve decided to cover the colonial side of this and plan a two day Victorian Hong Kong Itinerary for anyone who wants to see some of the Victorian delights of this wonderfully international city.
Perhaps this exhibition at Hong Kong international airport on the architecture of the old General Post Office building was a timely reminder that there is an abundance of beautiful architecture and history in this Asian gem that was such a jewel of splendour in the British crown in the peak of colonial times.
Stay tuned for more historical photos and other tastes of Hong Kong’s splendid Victoriana!
