With a little extra time before my meeting, I decided to pop into the waterfront Harbour Grand hotel in Hung Hom and sample the hot chocolate at the Corner Cafe on the ground floor.
The cafés other chocolates did look rather delectable though, and if I wasn’t going for this lunch meeting so soon afterwards I would definitely try all of them. As it were, I did try nibbling on a few little pieces that the staff so kindly broke off for me.
Unfortunately the dark chocolate almond was out of stock, but I did have a chance to sample the white chocolate and dried fruit and milk jam chocolate and hazelnut chocolate bar pieces, which took a baffling ten minutes to arrive from a few feet away. The milk jam chocolate was surprisingly good, with a lightly complex depth of sweetness that was not overly saccharine. It was interesting enough that I took a bigger piece home to my Dearest Beloved for the weekend.
Overall verdict – a lovely waterfront view with tranquil fountain sounds perfect for a relaxing wait and I would pop in here again if I had a meeting nearby, and would probably get more of the milk jam chocolate for my Love.
I definitely wouldn’t venture over for the hot chocolate, but the solid chocolate was good enough to get a thumbs up from me for taste and likeability.
Tally ho, to my next chocolate review!
